Welcome to Grenada!
Grenada, the spice island and wreck capital of the Caribbean, is situated south of the hurricane belt which makes it a year round destination. One-ninth of Grenada’s landmass is preserved as parks and natural wildlife sanctuaries. Luscious bountiful tropical forests, filled with a wide variety of flora and fauna, allow visitors to interact with wildlife in their natural habitat, while basking in the unadulterated splendor of nature. Trek through rainforests, which uncover the most magical waterfalls. The enchanting island boasts silky stretches of white sand beaches, sunken treasures full of marine life, stunning and off the beaten path landscapes and plenty of life changing adventures!
The diving off Grenada is the perfect blend of natural and man-made. You will find prolific coral and sponge growth smothering some of the most pristine and healthy reefs in the Caribbean, which in turn provides a rich habitat for the likes of angelfish, snapper, wrasse, butterflyfish, damselfish, parrotfish, pufferfish, boxfish, trumpetfish, grouper and lobster. This rich diversity of marine life then brings in efficient predators such as barracuda, jacks, stingrays and various species of shark, along with elegant turtles and eagle rays. Interspersed among these pockets of colorful coral kingdom, you also come across all manner of shipwrecks, including the mother wreck of them all, the immense Bianca C. Known as the Titanic of the Caribbean, it is a 180 meter long Italian line sitting upright in 50 meters that has graced the island since sank in 1961.
For something completely different, visit an underwater work of art. Grenada’s Underwater Sculpture Park features lifelike representations of people that are becoming ever more otherworldly as they are slowly covered in encrusting marine growth.
